Deans Dialogues

This compact title collects the voices of 18 esteemed architects, designers, educators, urbanisms, and theorists in dialogue with students from the Illinois Institute of Technology’s College of Architecture. With personalities ranging from Phyllis Lambert to David Adjaye to Rafael Viñoly; the contributors expound and express their thoughts freely, deeply digging into essential themes that drive their work, study, and process. On the cover’s yellow linen cover, the titles of the dialogues are printed on the front and back, to emphasize these different topics. The book’s table of contents works as a navigation throughout the entire publication and marks each chapter, which can be seen from the exterior n the form of cascading black rectangles. The image contribution of artist Erwin Olaf has been printed in full color, while the remaining images were printed in black and white. A small white ribbon acts as a bookmark, as the book is meant to be read in numerous sittings; offering small gems of ideas that are meant to be mulled over, again and again, upon each reading.
