Being the Mountain
Being the Mountain is a book that examines the relationship between architecture and the ground buildings occupy; an interaction so obvious–a building must touch the ground–that it remains underexplored. Productura is a Mexico-based architecture firm. This book seeks to correct that gap in architecture’s literature. The concept of the book was translated from its title; images are aligned on the bottom and are in dialogue with the text, which is aligned on the top. The projects of the studio are placed in the back of the book, turned 90 degrees to distinguish them from the remainder of the book’s narrative. It’s perfect bound with linen cover; the image looks as if it were embroidered.
